What is EPF®?
EPF® (environmental protection factor) is a new scientific standard for measuring oxidative stress protection. In much the same way that SPF (sun protection factor) determines the level of UV protection you can expect from a sunscreen, EPF® determines the level of environmental or oxidative stress protection you can expect from an antioxidant.
Does PREVAGE® MD anti-aging treatment contain oil?
PREVAGE® MD is oil-free.
Should any precautions be taken before using PREVAGE® MD anti-aging treatment on a regular basis?

If any redness, swelling, burning, or itching occurs, patients should wash the product off and discontinue use until contacting you for further instructions.

Will PREVAGE® MD cause any skin reactions?
Skin reactions have been reported following the use of PREVAGE® MD anti-aging treatment. Such reaction have been reported commonly following product use but most are mild and clear up by discontinuing use of the product. There have been rare reports of rashes away from the site of application, swelling, and allergic reactions. Although rare, some of these allergic reactions have been severe, such as anaphylactic reactions or contact dermatitis and required medical attention, including treatment with systemic corticosteroids. Skin reactions may be more likely in individuals with sensitive skin, eczema, or allergies to cosmetics, hair dyes (para-phenylenediamine (PPD)), bleaching agents (hydroquinones), sulfa compounds or jewelry.
Patients undergoing medical procedures such as laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, chemical peels, or any other aggressive skin therapy may also be at increased risk of experiencing skin reactions. Skin reactions are more likely to occur within the first several days of use. However, in some cases, skin reactions have also been reported after weeks to months of continuous product use as people may become sensitized to the product. Physicians and patients should be aware that such reactions may occur at any time during use.
What if there is an allergic reaction to PREVAGE® MD?
Skin reactions may be more likely in individuals with sensitive skin, eczema, or allergies to cosmetics, hair dyes (para-phenylenediamine (PPD)), bleaching agents (hydroquinones), sulfa compounds, or jewelry. If any of these conditions occur, the patient should begin using PREVAGE® MD gradually. In the event of any itching, burning, redness, or swelling, patients should discontinue use at once. Such reactions are rare but should be treated the same as any allergic reaction.
Is PREVAGE® MD comedogenic?
No. PREVAGE® MD anti-aging treatment has been extensively tested in accordance with the established protocol of cosmetic safety and was found to be noncomedogenic.
