Idebenone, the active ingredient in PREVAGE® MD anti-aging treatment, is scientifically shown to be more effective than other topical antioxidants in protecting the skin against environmental stressors known to cause skin aging.3 Other topical antioxidants include kinetin (used in Kinerase®), coenzyme Q10 (used in Q10 Plus Wrinkle Control products from Nivea®), lipoic acid (used in N.V. Perricone M.D. Cosmeceuticals®), vitamin C, and vitamin E (used in many anti-aging products).
PREVAGE® MD contains idebenone 1%, an antioxidant that scavenges harmful free radicals in skin cells and protects skin from damage from external environmental stressors such as UV light, air pollution, ozone, and cigarette smoke.
